Hiking
A perfectly maintained network of hiking trails—400 kilometers in summer and 70 kilometers in winter—has something for everyone. One highlight for the whole family, for example, is the scenic 5-Lakes Trail, which offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountain giants.

Winter sports
Enjoy 360 kilometers of slopes in Europe’s highest ski resort, with views of the Matterhorn. The first-class dining options are very popular, so we recommend making a table reservation. You can conveniently rent ski equipment from our partner, Matterhorn Sport, at the nearby Haus Riva.

Shopping
In Zermatt’s shops, you’ll find everything from baked goods and chocolate to mountaineering gear, fashion, and watches. Swiss chocolate specialties, crispy mountaineer’s bread, and chocolate Matterhörnli are especially popular with visitors—there’s something for everyone here.

Biking
Thirteen trails from easy to difficult and many forms of upward transportation make the Zermatt mountains an Eldorado for mountain bikers. Don’t have your own bike with you? No problem at all. Our partner Matterhorn Sport, situated just three minutes’ walk away in Haus Riva, will be happy to help out with a rental bike.

Sightseeing flights
Take off with Air Zermatt and experience the majestic world of the four-thousand-meter peaks from a bird's-eye view. Although the Zermatt heliport is just a few minutes away, you can hardly hear any air traffic at the Alpen Resort.
